I began writing Byzantine icons in 1997 under the guidance of Diamantis Cassis of beloved memory, working with acrylic paint and gold leaf on wood panels. Over the years I have attended three workshops at The Holy Dormition Orthodox Monastery in Rives Junction, Michigan, and I continue writing icons in this medium.

In 2007, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Isaiah of Denver, I began writing the iconography for the St. Efstathios Chapel on the campus of St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church in Houston, Texas. I was blessed to work under the guidance of George Filippakis of New York on this project, who has been writing icons for over 60 years. Over the next 11 years, I completed 100 icons, mostly on canvas, that have been installed in the chapel that was completed in April 2018.

Since then, I have completed and installed the Pantokrator and the Baptism of Christ icons at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Craig, Colorado, and the Platitera, the twelve apostles, The nativity of Christ, The Entry of Christ in to the Temple, The Resurrection of Christ and the Myrrh-Bearing Women at Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Boulder, Colorado.

In January 2025, I completed a two year Icon certificate program with Dr. George Kordis and have expanded my medium to include egg tempra.
